Born in South Manchester in 1970, Sarah Champion hit her teens just as the city's music scene was about to become one of the most exciting in the world. When she was only 19, she wrote a book called And God Created Manchester in just eight tweaky days and sleepless nights. This breathless teenage rant was published at the peak of Madchester and captured the craziness of the times - fuelled by her passionate enthusiasm for the city and the music it spawned.
